Because I had never really thought about different technologies used in the classroom, any new possible technology that is available to us was something new to me. I learned what html stands for, and even learned the very very basics of how to read that. I learned about resolutions of videos, and how to use some of the internet technology that has become available to us. I learned how to upload videos to youtube. and even before that I learned how to edit movies (and how much work it takes to edit 3 minutes!) and I learned how to figure out things on other websites so I don't feel so "out of the loop" as I try and figure out the newest trends.
2) What are some technologies that you think you might use in an actual teaching setting?
While I learned about many different technologies, there were definitely some that I would not use in the classroom with my own class. I don't know how much of the html knowledge I will use in the classroom, unless I learn more and create my own website for my class. There are other technologies that I probably will use though, such as videos, to make class time more enjoyable and keep their attention on the subject at hand (hopefully). I may also on occasion use power points to help me teach especially hard topics. and I will definitely be looking at other technologies out there to see if they will help enhance my teaching and classroom presentation.
3) What things do you feel you understand better now that you did at the beginning of the semester?
I think I may have already indirectly answered this question in the first question, but I will briefly restate a few things. I definitely learned how to create and and design my blog, and video, as well as upload or make public/private things that I put on the internet. I also better understand web safety now and know what to look for as I decide whether to put private information on websites and watch out for logon theft. Most of the information that we went over in class and at home was new to me, so I learned a lot about everything we went over.
