So I headed home from college last week. It was bitter sweet since I won't be back for quite some time (since I'm going to Italy in the fall!) and I decided I wasn't going to try and take all my stuff home with me. I left a lot of my stuff at my grandma's house, and I mean A LOT of stuff, with her. I will need to go through it and bulk down when I see it next. When you have less stuff it makes it a lot easier to move, and as a college student I will be moving a lot still in my life. However, I found a random ride home with the friend of a co-worker and the girl I ended getting a ride home with had to bring all her stuff home. I guess she didn't have a place to stash stuff for a few months. Or she thought she would need it all for the summer as well. But anyway, the post is not about whether she has a place to keep her stuff. It actually has to do with the picture to the left. I know I've passed cars on the high way before that are packed beyond belief with stuff, but I never thought I would be in one of those cars. Well, here is proof that I now have been in one of those cars. In case you can't tell, there is stuff everywhere around me in the car. I'm sitting in the back seat and the camera is facing toward the rear window. Obviously you can't see out the back window, and you can't even see out the side window. When I was driving it was more than a little nerve wracking because I drove into Phoenix and was weaving in and out of traffic on the freeway. The main problem with having stuff all the way to the front seat, you have a very large blind spot. I was sure I was going to end up hitting someone who was trying to get on or off the freeway. Luckily I didn't (haven't broken my no-wreck-record yet: knock on wood) and got home safe. The funniest part about the whole ordeal though, was the fact that weighed down so much we should have gotten terrible gas milage and taken kinda forever to get home. Neither of those was true though. We made it home in 10 hours with a half hour break for lunch, and didn't break the bank paying for gas either. The whole experience was exciting: the packed car, like a "typical" college student, getting home at a good time, and even being able to drive (despite it being nerve wracking). I'm glad I had the experience. It was not the worst way one could travel, although I wouldn't really recommend it if you don't like cramped spaces or are easily car sick...
