Our puppy, Buster, is the funniest dog I've ever lived with. I suppose that's not saying much since our last dog (who lasted for a majority of my life thus far) was a scared, grouchy, little dog. She wouldn't chase balls or sit nicely in our laps, or warmly welcome anyone into our house. Even despite that, Tuxedo was a fun dog, but once she died I was ready for new dog. A younger dog, if not also friendlier and playful-er. Well, Buster is as different from Tuxedo as you can get. He jumps on our beds and puts toys in our faces early in the morning to wake us up to play with him. He always brings us toys or bites our hands if we aren't giving him enough attention. But despite all the trouble he gives us, I find everything he does hilarious! I love his expression when he is excited to see us, and the way he tries to sneak out front any chance he can get. I love that he wants to lean on us when he naps and that sometimes he chases his tail. When we got him last June I was so sad that I was working so much so I couldn't play with him more. But every night when I got home from work, I would play with him, and cuddle with him, and let him fall asleep in my lap. It was glorious and only got better when I stopped working and it was just the two of us at home alone. My sister didn't want to get a ride to school every day, so I ended up at home with no car, and I decided to let Buster roam the house while I was around. He got used to that, and when I left back to school, he didn't want to give up the house (and eating everything he could get his mouth on) and I guess went on a rampage-according to my brother and father. He's better at going around the house now, and doesn't chew everything up and take it out to the backyard. In fact, we let him roam the house at night while we are asleep, so he can sleep with us if he wants to. And last night, for the first time ever, he slept with me the whole night! I was the one who started teaching him how to behave around the house, but I left before we allowed him to start roaming the house so I didn't get the benefit of snuggling with him a night. But last night I did! and the most amazing part is, despite the fact that I have a twin bed, and Buster is not a small dog, neither of us pushed the other off during the night; or rolled over onto the other. it was awesome. and while I keep forgetting to get another blanket to keep me warm at night, it is nice to have a warm, furry dog to warm up the bed more. I hope he sleeps with me more often. it's the most exciting things in my life thus far, which may be a little sad to admit, but I love my Buster and am glad that I am worthy of his presence finally.
