The 6 week milestone

It's hard to believe we have been here for 6 weeks already. The other girls joining us at our school will join us on Thursday night. Basically there isn't a day I'm not glad I decided to come early. But we came early to teach a summer school, and the actual school year is about to start so summer school ended last Friday with Parent's Day.

Parent's Day included the parents of our students watching their kids in class, performances, and games that the parents could participate in. They made it into such a big deal (approving our lesson plans and materials days ahead if time, going over the schedule everyday so we wouldn't be confused and it elude all run smoothly, etc.) that the pressure was on. I had one of the worst lessons since the first day, where nothing went like I planned but there weren't many parents watching me. It was still fun, even despite that.
